Lundgaard Laboratory Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Kelley Swanberg recently gave a talk at the Swedish National 7 T Facility annual user meeting on 19 November 2024 on the first preclinical findings, and proposed pathways to clinical translation, of their work with Dr. Jari Jukkola investigating the utility of in vivo proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H MRS) as a noninvasive reporter of solute clearance by cerebrospinal fluid flow through the brain. This work aims to bridge preclinical with clinical research into the glymphatic system and its influence on brain health and disease by developing and validating a noninvasive magnetic resonance-based method for directly observing solute clearance by this network of perivascular fluid channels in the CNS.
