The Lundgaard Laboratory, together with clinical collaborators led by Professor Jiang Rongcai from Tianjin Medical University, held an international research summit in Oxford, United Kingdom on 29 March 2026, focused on their joint efforts within project ‘Prompting regeneration after acute traumatic brain injury by regulating the drainage of cervical lymph nodes’. This summit, a satellite workshop to the Oxford Glymphatic and Brain Clearance Symposium 2026, involved an afternoon of lively presentation and discussion. Invited talks were given by Professor Iben Lundgaard, Dr. Bo Chen, Dr. Kelley Swanberg, and Dr. Rongcai Jiang and included recent developments in high-resolution microscopy, proteomics, noninvasive metabolic imaging and clinical investigations into the fundamental mechanisms and novel treatment approaches to traumatic and inflammatory disruptions to normal waste clearance from the brain.
