Serena jokingly describes herself as an unlikely scientist, as she has always considered herself more of a words-and-poetry person than a science-and-biology one. And yet she cannot image herself anywhere other than in a laboratory doing research, for the rest of her life and, obviously, on Alzheimer’s disease.

When not doing research, Serena is most likely reading poetry, running for miles, or writing easy-to-read articles about the brain for her newsletter, the latter driven by her deep passion for science communication.
